Piano in a variety of musical genres

In the world of piano, there is a variety of musical genres, because the soul of the music contained within each person is different.
Some musical genres are:

1.Classic
In this genre, it takes skill and technique are high. To play this genre, could not be changed according to the will of its own. So, it should follow the sheet music, and it is in contrast to other musical genres (jazz, pop, etc). Many of the composers who composed the classic songs like Beethoven,
Johann Sebastian Bach, etc.. There is also a kind of semi-classic song that is more easily digested and enjoyed by ordinary people, such as songs from Richard Clayderman (Ballade Pour Adelline).

This is an example of the music for the classic genre :

2.Pop

To playing this musical genres, should not be too theoretical and rigid, dam needed creations.
Usually, people who do not know music theory or people who have a natural talent more easily play these musical genres, being able to play the piano for free (according to the feelings) and full of creativity.

There is an example of the music for the pop genre :

3.Jazz
Usually played by people who have a high mental turmoil as those who need freedom / independence from oppression. For example, black people are often oppressed by white people. Mental turmoil they shared when they were playing piano / other musical instruments. There are also included in the family of jazz, such as bossanova, swing, country, etc. This musical genres match when played in a pub or cafe.

That is an example of the music for the jazz genre :

4.Samba
This musical genres impressed with the cheerful and happy song. Usually to accompany the dance people
This is an example of the music for the samba genre :

Symbols and Articulation

Playing the piano is not the same as when we typed using the keyboard, although to do these things using 10 fingers. The piano was played by using benefits of, while typing do not need articulation.
What is the benefits of articulations?
The benefit is : When we play a song, not audible flat / monotonous. So the song seemed to be like a "live" and have stories, because it played by a full inspiration and feelings embodied in articulation.
Those of us who heard it also seemed like a "go" in the song, and able to feel what is perceived by the pianist.

The Articulation involved  accent (pressure), staccato (where the notes are played by snapped), legato / slur (The notes to be played as if such "swing", so there are no broken voice of its), tuneto .. etc.

And no less important is symbols. It can also affect the way we play the piano.
That stuff (in general) involved :
 1.ppp (Pianississimo)
It's mean we played the notes with extremely soft.

2. pp (Pianissimo)
It's mean very soft  to  play the notes.

3. mp (mezzo piano)
It's mean the notes to be played with moderate(bit) soft

4. p (piano)
  It's mean played with soft

5. mf (mezzo forte)
It's mean played with a rather loud

6.  f (forte)
  It's mean played with loud

7.  ff (fortissimo)
  It's mean played very loudly

8. fff (fortississimo)
It's mean played with extremely loud

9. < (crescendo)
It's mean a gradual increase in volume (getting more and more loud)

10. >  (diminuendo)
It's mean a gradual decrease in volume (getting more and more soft)

So,if we want to play piano with perfect. We must pay attention to many things (like a symbols, articulation, etc). Because the value of piano located there. As we know,in a piano competition , many people are master when play piano. But many of them fail to became a winner or not included in the category of champions, because many of them less aware of the importance of inspiration in playing music.

Ok,that's all about symbols and articulation. Hope it can be useful for you all.. :D
See you at the next blog.. ;)

Harmony of Piano ( Melody and Chord )

Melody is the tone of a song.
The tone can be the major and minor.
Minor tones are usually found on the sad songs .. like De'Amour, A Comme Amour, etc .

This song is example for the minor tones :

But, major tone, usually found on the merry songs or happy songs such as polka, La paloma, etc.

This song is example for the major tone :

Feels less than perfect when the melody is played without harmony. Therefore, for the harmony, we need to add a chord as a retinue.
For example chord C major, A minor, etc.
Chord is generally composed of three tones played simultaneously.
We can know the chords, if we already know about the scales.
scales is a sequence of scales starting from the basic tone (in 1 octave),

This picture indicate space in SCALES .
So if we want to play the scales ,it must be played with space :
1 – 1 – ½ - 1 – 1 – 1 – ½  ,example:
when we use the basic tone C major (do = c), the scale:
C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C (the chord tones are derived from 1,3,5 -> C-E-G)
when we use tones D major (do = d) the scale:
D-E-F#-G-A-B-C#-D (the chord tones are derived from 1,3,5 -> D-F#-A)

and so on ...

So, with the combination of melody and chord. There is a harmony track as we heard (either classic, jazz, etc) of the piano. :D

Ok, that's all about harmony of piano. Hope it be useful for you all ! :D
See you at the next post. ;)

History of the Piano

Hallo,I'm back..^^
Now, I will describe you about history of the piano..

The Piano was invented by Bartolomeus Cristofori (1655-1731) in 1720.

The idea to make a piano, started from his wanted to unite the tones of clavichord with the power of harpshicord. At first,Piano was called  keyboard with soft and loud sound by his friend.
String tension of his piano isn't strong as now. Frame of his piano made from wood and String tension made from wood too, consequently the sound isn't loud as now and String tension of his piano isn't strong as now .

This is picture about his piano :

That's why, many piano German makers, made design to produce better piano. There is a square form, the string made from metal, etc. In the year of 1800, Joseph Smith from England made piano from metal entirely. Consequently, his piano afford sound more loud and better.

In development, before it has 88 keys as now, the piano has five octaves and 62 keys. It equipped with pedals too. But,first pedal was used with the knee, now using foot. Firstly string tension of 16 tons, now 30 tons. Because that, piano modern afford the great sound which can make us carried away by the beautiful voice. In the 20th century, there is an electronic piano or is called electric piano

This is the picture of  modern piano(there are piano from electricity and piano regular) :
